Our first oppportunity to work with re-recording mixer Rob Mackenzie and our first feature mix with Sam Petty.
The sound design and mix on this daring and highly original film from writer / director Julia Leigh pushed the boundaries of modern sound in directions we have not heard or experienced in a long time.
Julia directed the mix with the confidence and wisdom of a veteren, even though this was her first feature. As it got quieter and quiter and more sound was stripped back, everyone was a little unsure, but as soon as we had watched the continuous playback of the final mix prior to printmastering, we could only applaud her vision and imagination. Watchout (and listenout) for this incredibly bold picture.
