Jim Loach tells the deeply moving story of the forced migration of children from the Untied Kingdom to Australia. With a classically simple and beautiful track by Andrew Plain and his crew and mixed with subtlety and care by Gethin Creagh and Sam Hayward this was a real pleasure to mix at StageOne. Lisa Gerrard provided a lovely and discrete score. There won't be a dry eye in the house after watching this fine debut.
Will Ward steps up as Sound Supervisor on debutant filmmaker Gale Edwards first pic as she swaps the stage for the screen and directs this entertaining family film about an aspiring rock guitarist who has to take over as musical director of his dad's marching band and in the process try to save the town from greedy developers. With music from all genre's and a wonderfully supportive score by Guy Gross, re-recording mixer Peter Purcell and our own Sam Hayward were able to have some fun on this one. Mixed in Stage2 with not a lot of time, it is a proof again of the effort and dedication of our sound crews with congratulations to Will for getting that first one in the can.
Finally Vixc Kasper from DSV has been able to get himself down to StageOne from Queensland, bringing with him a quick final mix pass and digital printmaster on a this animated kids flick directed by bushie Troy Dann. Peter Purcell pre-dubbed up at Vic's and supplied to the stage a rollicking, dynamic soundtrack that once again goes above and beyond the call of duty.
